Tim Joel is an artist whose work is inspired by his travelling experiences, his paintings are mainly in oils.
Tim has travelled all over the world. When he first left school with just two 'O' levels he did not have an idea what he would do. He did a cocktail bartenders course in Fulham and learnt how to spin bottles and catch them again without smashing everything in sight and then went on a one year trip to Australia, where he worked in various bars and clubs and also spent some time working on his Uncle's sheep farm near Adelaide. After working at a Gentlemans Club in London and on the Queen of Scots Train from Edinburgh he embarked on a general art and design course at Epsom specialising in photography in his second year.
After that he was given an unconditional place at Napier University in Edinburgh and there he went to study a four year course in Photography and the moving Image. He graduated in November 1999 and arrived in Thailand on millennium eve. There he first began to paint. He lived for a long time in Germany and in Thailand.
In August 2004 he travelled to America with his paintings following an exhibition in Taiwan where he now lives and works an artist and teaching English as a foreign Language to kindergarten children in Taipei.
