A friend once wrote to Daphne "your art is a complete antidote to the pressures and stresses of everyday modern living because of its joy, its peace and its happiness."

Painting mainly from imagination, Daphne owes much of her inspiration to extensive travels. Born in Holland, she lived in Portugal and Pakistan before moving England, and after school she visited Vienna for a year to study metal work.

Daphne has travelled extensively through Africa, India and spent much time in the Bahamas, where a number of her paintings hang in a private collection.
