Brian Pollard

Brian Pollard is widely acclaimed as one of the most popular and successful naive painters in the South West of England. His distinctive original works have been reproduced in print by the international publishers Rosenstiels, and there is constant demand for his posters, jigsaws and cards. A clue to Brian's success lies in the comments of the late Arts critic Daniel Farson, who reviewed two of Brian's exhibitions for the Mail on Sunday: "Brian Pollard's work has a cheerfulness so welcome-a universal appeal".
Many of the pictures produced in the last twenty years reflect Brian's love of Devon and Cornwall. Other works depict favourite locations such as Tuscany and London, in addition to popular animal images, many of which have been successfully used in Japanese calendars. Brian exhibits on a regular basis in Plymouth and London. He still works as a family doctor in Plymouth two days a week.
